Institutional Investors Say Technology Will Shape Industry in the Future

Most institutional investors believe technological advances will shape the industry by 2025, but the majority of firms haven’t even explored AI-related capabilities, finds a Fidelity Investments survey.

Investors say they believe artificial intelligence will improve outcomes and reduce costs. 75 percent of respondents also say non-financial technology firms will enter the industry, which may cause traditional firms to merge or to be acquired.

At the same time, 53 percent of institutional investors say technology will replace traditional investment roles.
